CROSQ/IDB-MIF Project
HARMONISE REGIONAL QUALITY INFRASTRUCTURE FOR IMPROVING MARKET ACCESS AND COMPETITIVENESS
(RG-M1073)
The goal of the project is to contribute to economic competitiveness and regional development by facilitating market access through the use of harmonized and traceable legal metrology services. The purpose is to strengthen the existing regional metrology infrastructure while harmonizing the regional Measurement, Standards Testing and Quality infrastructure (MSTQ) towards international recognition.
The project will achieve the purpose through five components, namely:
Project outputs include registering at least the basic quantities as CMCs; increased demand for laboratory services; continued participation in international forums; and conduct of 2 peer evaluations.
The Project is of four (4) years duration. The total estimated cost is approximately US$2 million financed in part by non-reimbursable funds allocated by the MIF through its Technical Cooperation Facility with the Inter American Development Bank (IADB) and CROSQ counterpart funds partly financed through a collaboration agreement with Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstal (PTB); PTB is the national metrology institute (NMI) of Germany.
